Why do you require sign-up?

With signup, we can offer personalized services that evolve over time - e.g. you can develop your own custom wordlists, domain lists, save favorites, search preferences etc. We are adding more social interaction and domain research tools soon.

We also needed to protect the system from abuse and automated queries so that we could maintain the quality of service.
